In light of the developing situation with COVID-19 and having reviewed the advice from Public Health England and the government we will be implementing the following measures at Little Brook House:
Closing to Visitors
We will regretfully be closing Little Brook House to all visitors.
- From Saturday the 21st March until further notice, Little Brook House will be closed to all visitors
- All relative’s meetings will also be cancelled until further notice but you will, of course, be able to raise any concerns by email or phone
The one exception to the visiting rule will be if your family member enters end of life and then we would ensure you could spend as much time with them as possible under medical guidance.
In light of the foregoing we have set up a SKYPE facility at the home which you can use to contact your relatives. We have allocated the following time slots for calls:

|Tuesday||9.00 to 10.00 am|
|Wednesday||9.00 to 10.00 am||and||12.30 to 2.30 pm|
|Thursday||11.00 to 11.30 am|
To enable us to add your contact details to our Skype system please email us at email@example.com
. This mail box should also be used for requesting a call time during the time slots mentioned above. We would suggest a ten minute call in the first instance but if you feel that you need longer then please make this known at the time of your request. Carrie-Anne will monitor this mail box and co-ordinate the call timetable.
Regretfully, in order to reduce the risk of contact transfer, we will be significantly reducing the time residents will be away from Little Brook House:
- All external visits from Little Brook House for residents are cancelled until further notice
We continue to maintain a full complement of staff and we are supported by an excellent agency who know the residents well and will continue to support us. In the event that we experience staff shortages due to the need to self isolate then the Care Home Manager and Deputy Manager will move into Little Brook House to support staff and maintain care standards. Should any staff member or resident test positive for COVID-19 we will, of course, inform all relatives accordingly. We are already in contact with the relevant statutory bodies and we have received offers of support should we be affected by COVID-19.
Meals and Shopping
We will be returning to Apetito meals for the main meal of the day, which will help ensure we maintain the nutritional integrity of the food we offer. We have taken this step as we have had some issues with our regular suppliers in recent weeks.
How You Can Help
As I am sure you can imagine, staffing numbers may be impacted over the coming weeks and this may result in slower responses to emails and the phones will not necessarily be manned at all times. We know there will be an increase in calls to check on the welfare of your loved ones and all we ask is that you try to make these outside of peak care times and mealtimes to help smooth out the demand on staff time. Messages will be picked up when we can. Thank you for your help and support in this matter and please be assured, the welfare of our residents, their families and our staff remains our priority at this time.
